Canvas Project

Image
Final Work:    I used Dreamweaver using HTML5 canvas to create a cartoon version of Baby Yoda out of code. I decided on Baby Yoda because he is my favorite character from the Disney show, The Mandalorian. I picked to use a picture of him in a cradle so I could show his small frame. I decided on replicating a cartoon version of him because I thought it would be more fun than a life-like one.      What I found difficult was the aspect of having to layer code. I would write code and it wouldn't appear on the canvas. So I would have to go back and copy the code and put it before the code I want it to be in front of. What made my artwork successful was that I was not afraid to try things I was not comfortable with, such as using bezier curves to create Baby Yoda's sleeve. With that being said, I started out with simpler code to create things such as the handle before moving on to more advanced code. Another thing that helped me a lot with my work was that I pi...

Internet / World Wide Web

The Internet was created in the 1960's as a platform to help government researchers share information. ARPANET (The Advanced Research Projects Agency)  was created by the Department of Defense. The Cold War played a role in the production of the Internet, looking for ways to share information if there was a nuclear war. Nowadays, according to BBVA, the Internet used access libraries, encyclopedias, news archives, and other information from around world.   The World Wide Web was created in the 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee, an Oxford University graduate. The World Wide Web is a collection of hyperlinks that take you to different websites across the Internet. Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web so that information could be shared via computers. In the early days of the internet different information was on different computers.  The Internet and the World Wide Web are two separate systems. The Internet is just the platform in which the World Wide Web is used. T he World Wide We...

Introduction

Hi, my name is Joe Otero. I am Advertisement and Public Relations Major at the University of Tampa. I'm originally from Washington, D.C. but spend a portion of my childhood overseas in the Manila, Philippines and Tunis, Tunisia. However for the past four years I have lived full time in Tampa, Florida. I am passionate about electronic music, traveling the country to attend different festivals and shows for the past five years. I am also an avid sports fan. I grew up playing sports, but now I just love to watch lacrosse, football, and hockey.      I'm looking forwards to taking FMX210 because it is something new to me. I've never been too tech savvy or have been able to manipulate photos or videos so I'm excited to get an understanding of how to do that. I want to go into the PR field after graduating college so having the knowledge and understand of how to use software such as Illustrator and InDesign could prove pivotal in my job search.
